Observed protein balls in the reach-in cooler and asked staff about the ingredients. The staff member informed the inspector that the protein ball had been made by the owner of the nutrition shop in the neighboring deli (regulated by the GDA) and then brought over for service. The protein balls did not have appropriate labeling, and the items are considered to be from an unapproved source. COS items discarded. Facility advised that the protein balls must be made in the nutrition shop's permitted kitchen.

Observed that the immersion blender was being cleaned with a mix of water and dish soap between uses without a sanitizing step. Observed that the mixture used to clean the blender needs to be changed more frequently. COS staff informed and new mix made to properly clean and sanitize the immersion blender between uses.
