13- 190(a), 12-205(b)(1)Observed flow rate at 35gpm. For a 1200 gallon spa, the flow rate shall be 40gpm. CA: The equipment shall be operated continuously on a twenty-four (24) hour basis to obtain the minimum required number of four (4) turnovers per day, or one turnover every six (6) hours (pools); every 30 mins. for spas.

3 out of 5 entrance gates unable to self-latch. Repair gates or keep locked 24/7 if main entrance gates are operable. 13-202(a)(3) When the pool is not open for use access to the pool area shall be prohibited by the closing and securing of all entry points.

Chlorine levels reading at .05. 13-189(c)(1) The free-chlorine residual in all parts of the pool shall be maintained at a concentration of no less than one and one-half parts per million (1.5ppm) at all times. If stabilizing agents are used (OUTSIDE POOLS ONLY) a free-chlorine residual shall be maintained at a concentration of no less than three parts per million (3ppm) at all times. Free chlorine (stabilized or unstabilized) shall not exceed ten parts per million (10ppm) except when super-chlorinating or shocking the pool.

Pump turned off for leak. 13-190(a) All circulation system components, including filter(s), pump(s), hair lint strainer(s) and other similar components, shall function properly and be maintained in a clean condition.

Rope not attached to buoy. 13-202(d) Each pool shall be provided with a Coast Guard approved lifesaving ring having an outside diameter of 15”-24”, firmly attached to a ¼”-3/8” diameter throwing rope that is as long as 1½ times the max width of the pool or 50’ (whichever is longer.)

Spa rules incorrect. 13-202(m) Rules and Regulations. In addition to the minimum safety rules (see Safety, Sections (f) and (m), the following additional statements shall be required. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) d.) “Elderly persons and pregnant women not allowed without written permission from their medical doctor.” “Persons with any health condition not allowed without written permission from their medical doctor” “Persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or stimulants not allowed in whirlpool.” “Do not enter if water temperature exceeds 104 Degrees Fahrenheit” Minimum 2” letters. “Do not use for more than ten (10) minutes without exiting and “cooling down”. “Enter and exit with caution.”

13-189(c)(4): Pool water shall be tested for chlorine and pH at least 2x/day. Observed testing 2x/week.

13-189(c)(1) Observed pH above 7.8. CA: The pool shall be maintained in an alkaline condition at all times with a pH level between 7.2-7.8. COS: acid added to pool and now reading 7.5.

13-205 (b)(1) Flow meter stuck. CA: The equipment shall be operated continuously on a 24 hr basis to obtain the minimum required turnover every 30 minutes for spas.

13-202(C) and 12-189(c)(4) Observed no daily records and employee stated they do not test chemicals twice daily. CA: Each pool operator shall maintain daily record information available and test chemicals at least 2x a day

13-188(h)(7) Observed cracks in coping. The maximum gaps in decks, between pool decks and the coping, or between other decks or walkways, shall be one half inch of horizontal clearance with a maximum vertical elevation of one quarter inch. Control joints in decks shall be provided to minimize the potential for cracks. Construction joints where pool coping meets concrete decks or other adjacent structures shall be watertight.

13-189(a)(5) Observed entire spa surface with dirt and debris and in need of brushing. CA: All pools shall be kept free from sediment, dirt, or debris by frequent brushing and vacuuming of bottom and sidewalls. Visible scum shall be removed immediately.

13-187(c) Observed expired permits posted. CA: The operating permit shall be framed and displayed in a conspicuous place as close to the pool entrance as possible and easily readable by the public at all times.

13-202(k) First aid kit not able to treat at least 15 people. CA: Each pool shall be supplied with a readily available First Aid kit equipped to treat at least 15 people that meets OSHA requirements. COS: First Aid kit resupplied.
