Observed flow meters for the jet and waterfall were turned off. b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the supervisor of the need for all components of the pool to be operating effectively.
Observed some skimmers not producing a pull/current; one skimmer produced a white substance after pulling out the basket. EHS informed the supervisor of the need for the pool company to check and/or service the skimmer line.

Observed pressure gauges on the filter and on all of the pumps that were not working; all were stuck in at a reading whether the system was turned on or off. EHS informed the supervisor to have the gauges checked/replaced.

Regulation: 511-3-5-.23(5)(g) - (g) failure to provide and maintain a barrier to inhibit unauthorized access to the outdoor facility when required.
Observed the pool doors from the locker room unable to lock given that the pool is closed due to not being permitted therefore still allowing access to to the pool. EHS informed the PIC of the need to have to doors fixed so that they lock in instances where the pool has to close before the complex closes.
Observed low alkalinity and calcium hardness levels. EHS spoke with the PIC about the levels and reviewed his test logs which showed levels were low also. PIC stated the CPO is scheduled to visit the facility tomorrow.

Inspector note: EHS observed the air compressor not operating at minimum capacity. Thus, there is an elevation in pH, combined chlorine, and inadequate flow of water. Corrective action: PIC has maintenance working to resolve issue.
