EHS observed emergency phone not connecting to dispatch.

An operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all times.

PIC to repair phone.

pH observed at 7.0. Low.

pH to be maintained at 7.2 (7.4-7.6) 7.8

PIC to adjust.

EHS observed that float line at depth break missing.

A rope and float line shall be provided within one foot of and on the shallow side of the break in grade between the shallow and deep portions of the swimming pool, with its position marked with visible floats at intervals of seven feet or less.

PIC to replace.

EHS observed missing skimmers on two of three skimmers.

Each skimmer shall have a weir that adjusts automatically to variations in water level over a minimum range of four inches.

PIC to replace.

Observed both gated entrance with doors that don't self-close/latch unless opened to maximum width. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device. Gates other than pedestrian access gates shall have a self-latching device. EHS informed PIC of the need to assure the gates self-close/latch at any opened width.

Observed low chlorine levels. (c) Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0 EHS informed PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed flow meter barely bobbing. (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed PIC of the need to clean it out to see if it helps with the flow.

Observed skimmers that weren't skimming although PIC stated they were on. EHS informed PIC of the need to determine what's going on with the skimmers.

Observed pool Risk signage had small lettering. c) The same sign in subsection (b) above or an additional sign will state under the heading “Pool Risks” the following items in clearly legible letters at least one inch high. EHS had informed facility during the prior year of the need to purchase signage with bigger (1 inch) letters.

Observed the Risk of drowning, supervise children closely signage with small lettering. (b) Where no lifeguard is on duty, a sign or signs shall be placed in clear view at or near the entrance to the pool and shall state in clearly legible letters at least four inches high “WARNING - NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY and RISK OF DROWNING - SUPERVISE CHILDREN CLOSELY”. EHS had informed facility during previous year that the lettering had to be 4 inches minimum.

Observed NO DIVING stencil in 4 inch letters need on both sides of the pool at the 3 FT depth marker. (a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers. EHS informed PIC of the need to place NO DIVING at the 3FT depth markers on both sides of the pool.

Observed no 911 signage/facility address & contact information posted on the emergency phone. EHS informed PIC of the need to post the noted information.

Observed signage of the bather load and pool hours needed in 4 inch letters; no signage posted. (c) A sign shall be posted stating the hours of operation in clear view near the entrance and shall state the theoretical peak occupancy. EHS informed PIC of the need to post the noted information.

Observed pool walls and bottom with discoloration. EHS was unsure if the paint/plaster had been eaten away or if it was discolored due to dirt or algae. EHS informed PIC of the need to determine the issue. If the issue is the paint/plaster has peeled away, the facility will need to re-paint/plaster the pool.

Observed the facility needing to re-caulk around the tile on the pool wall where it is peeling away. EHS informed PIC of the need to address the issue.

Observed low chemical levels for the following: alkalinity and cyanuric acid. EHS informed PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry.
