EHS observed stains on the mattresses and/or pullout couches in rooms 104, 205, 214, 304, and 404.

511-6-2-.14(6) - Bed, Bedding, and Linens Washable mattress pads or covers shall be used on all mattresses. Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin. Each bed shall be provided, as a minimum, with two sheets and one pillow and pillowcase. After each occupancy and upon the request of the occupant, sheets and pillowcases shall be changed with fresh laundered linens. During occupancy, linens shall be changed at a minimum frequency of not less than weekly.

C/A: PIC was informed that stained mattresses will need to be cleaned or replaced

EHS observed buildup of mold-like substance on both ice makers for guests.

511-6-2-.07(8) - Ice Supply If self-service ice is provided, then it shall be from an approved water supply. In all new tourist accommodations, and in existing tourist accommodations when machines are replaced, only automatic dispensing ice machines will be allowed. In existing tourist accommodations permitted prior to the adoption of this rule, the use of existing self-service ice-storage bins may be continued, provided that the machines are maintained in good repair and capable of being properly cleaned and sanitized according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

C/A: PIC was informed that the baffle of the ice makers will need to be cleaned regularly to prevent substance buildup

EHS observed stains and/or debris on the mattresses of the pullout couches in rooms 108, 224, 308, 312, 410, and 404. EHS also observed a small hole torn in the bed sheet in room 312.

EHS observed mold-like substance in the ice makers on the 1st and 3rd floors.

Further, a copy of the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions shall be maintained onsite for review at the request of the Health Authority. Scoops, ice buckets, and other ice handling equipment, shall be of easily cleanable material and construction. They shall be stored in a clean place and shall be kept clean. Glassware shall not be used to scoop ice.

Observed soiled drapes in room 412. All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin. Observed: 105: crusted carpet stain in front of mirror. 214: crusted carpet stain in-between the beds, yellow drape bed cover stained, dusty air filter. 222: Scratch marks on drawer between beds, dusty and ripped air filter. 310: cup tile to place soap inside shower missing (looks like broken tile wall currently), dusty and ripped air filter, stained bed cover. 319: dirty air filter 411: red carpet stains in-front of sofa bed area, ripped and dusty air filter, 423: ripped and dusty air filter, stained sofa cushion, ripped drawer leg (where tv, microwave and fridge are).

Correct action: Spoke to PIC that all items need to be either repaired or replaced
