Observed emergency phone was giving the busy signal when picked up. The phone could be heard dialing out but continuing to give the busy signal. Informed maintenance man Mike the pool would have to be closed until the phone could be fixed. Mike explained that the emergency dispatch called the front desk back. COS: Establishment contacted phone provider and paid the bill. Emergency phone in working order prior to inspector leaving.

Observed that CPO certificate could not be provided by staff. Upon conversation with Hotel Manager Natalie Bischoff the certificate is locked in her office. Informed her that the CPO certificate must be available at all times. CA: The trained operator shall have a current certificate showing completion of an approved operator training course. Observed free chlorine level was reading at 2.39 inside of the Spa. CA: Spa must maintain a chlorine level of at least 3PPM. COS: CPO treated pool and re-tested chlorine, levels read at 6.62.
