Routine
1 - adequate, approved, permitted, protected potable water supply; no cross connection or back siphonage
Regulation: 511-6-2-.07(2) - water supply and sanitizing
Observed hot water in room 254 at 122 degrees F.
RCA: The water temperature at the water heater shall be adjusted to accommodate proper hot water temperatures. Rule: In all new tourist accommodations, and where possible in existing tourist accommodations, hot water in all guest rooms shall not exceed 120 degrees F
8 - annual gas fired equipment inspection on file; gas units equipped with automatic safety and/or 100% cut-off pilot
Regulation: 511-6-2-.15(5) - heating and fire safety-inspection
Observed no gas fire equipment form on the premise and PIC unable to provided proof of inspection.
RCA: Gas fired inspection form left form with the PIC. Discussion with owner advised if proof inspection was not provided by end of day, inspector will follow later this week to have inspection scheduled on site. Email and direct line provided for the report to be submitted to the Health Authority upon completion. Rule: All gas-fired equipment shall be inspected at least annually by a qualified licensed contractor or local fire authority, if available
27 - all furniture, waste receptacles, draperies, carpets; clean, and in good repair, considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(5) - condition of furnishings
Observed build-up of food debris in the mini fridge of room 254. Observed build-up of food debris, a water bottle and plastic bag in the mini fridge of room 256. Observed tears in the curtains of both rooms inspected. Observed dirt and debris in the under the sink cabinet in room 256.
Rule: All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin
28 - beds, mattresses, mattress pads, springs, frames, pillows, and bed coverings clean; vermin free and in good condition; bed linen properly supplied, changed and laundered
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(6) - bed, bedding, and linens
Observations for room 254: Staining to the pillows and pillowcases, the comforter, sheets, and duvet/cover sheet. Observations for room 256: Staining to the comforter, and hairs on the flat and fitted sheets.
RCA: Advised PIC to have beds stripped and remade with clean linens. Rule: Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin
24 - openings to outside and physical facilities protected by tight-fitting doors, screening, or other means
Regulation: 511-6-2-.13(3) - insect and rodent control-openings
Observed gaps at the entry doors to both rooms inspected (254 and 256).
Rule: Openings to the outside shall be effectively protected against the entrance of rodents and insects by tight-fitting doors, closed windows, screening, controlled air currents or other means
25 - floors, walls, ceilings, windows, doors clean, and in good repair; appropriate for location and operation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(1) - floors, walls, and ceilings
Observed the ceiling to be cracked and damaged in room 254. Observed dirt, debris and articles of clothing (socks) on the floors behind furniture in the both rooms.
Rule: Floors, walls, ceilings. windows, doors and all other appurtenances shall be of sound construction, properly maintained in good repair and shall be kept clean
26 - ventilation provided and lighting adequate; guestroom kitchenettes/cooking facilities approved
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(3) - room ventilation
Observed build-up of dust and debris on the vents of the A/C units in both rooms.
