11 - appropriate lifesaving equipment present
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(b) - (b) a minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inch
Observed rope missing from the buoy ring. b) A minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inches or a similar flotation device which is U.S. Coast Guard approved. EHS informed PIC that marine rope that is 50FT or 1.5x the width of the pool must be attached to the buoy ring.
28 - flow meter: appropriate range and location
Regulation: 511-3-5-.07(4)(b) - (b) a flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (gpm) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. the flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from
Observed the flow meter not working. (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed PIC of the need have the flow meter serviced or replaced as it should be bobbing. Facility is to also ensure the flow meter is providing the accurate flow for the given number of pool gallons and turnover rate.
17 - skimmers/gutters maintained and operable
Regulation: 511-3-5-.11(3)(d) - (d) each skimmer shall have a weir that adjusts automatically to variations in water level over a minimum range of four inches.
Observed skimmers not pulling and skimmers weirs missing. (d) Each skimmer shall have a weir that adjusts automatically to variations in water level over a minimum range of four inches. EHS informed the PIC of the need to service the skimmers so that they are suctioning and to install the skimmer weirs.
12 - grab/hand rails, ladders installed and secure
Regulation: 511-3-5-.06(3)(f)1. - 1. handrails, if removable, shall be installed in such a way that they cannot be removed without the use of tools.
Observed two stairs missing from the entrance ladder on the far side of the pool. EHS informed PIC of the need to replace the ladder treads or the entire ladder. The pool is to remain closed until the issue is addressed and a passing permit is given.
22 - signs: peak occupancy/pool/spa/signs legible and in clearview
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(12)(b) - (b) where no lifeguard is on duty, a sign or signs shall be placed in clear view at or near the entrance to the pool and shall state in clearly legible letters at least four inches high “warning - no life guard on duty and risk of drowning - supervis
Observed pool needing the warning no lifeguard on duty-risk of drowning, supervise children closely signage in 4in lettering. (b) Where no lifeguard is on duty, a sign or signs shall be placed in clear view at or near the entrance to the pool and shall state in clearly legible letters at least four inches high “WARNING - NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY and RISK OF DROWNING - SUPERVISE CHILDREN CLOSELY”. EHS informed PIC of the need to purchase the signage.

Observed No Diving symbol missing on the pool deck at each depth marker except two. (a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers in subsections (3)(a) thru (h) above. EHS informed the PIC of the need to install the no diving symbol.
