Routine
4-2B - food-contact surfaces: cleaned & sanitized
Regulation: 511-6-1.05(7)(b) - food contact surfaces and utensils - cleaning frequency (p, c)
Observed teacher/custodial staff wiping down dining tables using only one bucket of sanitizer solution and a single cloth. This method does not comply with the required approved cleaning and sanitizing procedures for dining counters and table-tops under Georgia Department of Public Health Rule 511-6-1-.05(7)(b)4.
Per the rule, table surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized using an approved method, such as the two-step method with separate sanitizer buckets/cloths, or another approved sanitizing procedure.
Corrective Action (COS): Staff were instructed on proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures and will implement the two-bucket method (one cloth for cleaning debris and a second cloth in separate sanitizer solution for rinsing/sanitizing) moving forward to ensure compliance.
12B - personal cleanliness
Regulation: 511-6-1.03(5)(g) - jewelry (c)
Observed food employee wearing a watch while preparing food. Except for a plain ring such as a wedding band, food employees may not wear jewelry on their arms and hands while preparing food.
Corrective Action (COS): Employee immediately removed the watch and properly washed hands before returning to food preparation.
