Routine
27 - all furniture, waste receptacles, draperies, carpets; clean, and in good repair, considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(5) - condition of furnishings
Observed microwaves in rooms 103 and 122 and fridge (gasket) in room 122 not kept in good repair.
CA: All furnishings provided must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.
PIC advised that he would replace microwaves and fridge
28 - beds, mattresses, mattress pads, springs, frames, pillows, and bed coverings clean; vermin free and in good condition; bed linen properly supplied, changed and laundered
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(6) - bed, bedding, and linens
Observed beds in rooms 103, 122 and 123 have no mattress pads or covers.
CA: Washable mattress pads or covers shall be used on all mattresses.
PIC advised he would get mattress protectors
17 - proper ventilation; no sign of mold, mildew, odors or moisture
Observed an accumulation of dust and debris on restroom exhaust vent cover in room 114. Observed missing restroom exhaust vent covers in rooms 122 and 123
CA: The current ventilation must be kept clean and prevent odor, mold, mildew, and moisture.
PIC advised he would clean vent covers and replace the ones that are missing
24 - openings to outside and physical facilities protected by tight-fitting doors, screening, or other means
Regulation: 511-6-2-.13(3) - insect and rodent control-openings
Observed exterior doors to rooms inspected with gaps/daylight visible around door frame.
CA: Openings to the outside shall be effectively protected against the entrance of rodents and insects by tight-fitting doors
PIC advised he would apply weather stripping to all doors
25 - floors, walls, ceilings, windows, doors clean, and in good repair; appropriate for location and operation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(1) - floors, walls, and ceilings
Observed missing tiles under vanity in room 123.
CA: Floors, walls, ceilings. windows, doors and all other appurtenances shall be of sound construction, properly maintained in good repair and shall be kept clean.
PIC advised he would have under the vanity fixed
19 - anti-slip tubs/showers, slip strips, mats or appliqué products provided and in good condition
Observed tubs in rooms 103, 122, 12 with no anti-slip surface.
CA: Anti-slip tubs slip strips, appliqués, or slip-proof mats shall be provided in each bathing facility and shall be kept clean and in good repair.
PIC stated he will apply anti-slip strips to tubs. Advised PIC to monitor rooms 114 and 117 as they may need more strips and/or replacing
