EHS observed excessive ice buildup in walk-in freezer, in contact with box of food product.

- Packaged food may not be stored in direct contact with ice or water if the food is subject to the entry of water because of the nature of its packaging, wrapping, or container or positioning in the ice or water.
C/A: PIC was informed that the ice buildup will need to be removed and compressor will most likely need to be fixed to prevent future breaches.

EHS observed excessive ice build-up in walk-in freezer that was in contact with food product box, likely due to condenser failure.
511-6-1.05(2)(u) - Condenser Unit, Separation (C) (u) Condenser Unit, Separation. If a condenser unit is an integral component of equipment, the condenser unit shall be separated from the food and food storage space by a dustproof barrier.
C/A: PIC was informed that the ice build-up will need to be cleaned and the condenser on the freezer unit will likely need to be repaired.
