Permit/Opening
5 - emergency phone operational and accessible
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(c ) - (c) an operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all tim
At time of inspection, there is a cordless phone handset in the phone box at the pool. No power supply connected. Emergency phone must be hard-wired or have a continuous power source. During the inspection, the phone rang twice, as it is connected to a phone system in the main hotel building. Without a continuous power source, the handset will die eventually (battery level is at one bar, at time of inspection). Also, since the phone is not attached, it may be taken by someone and no phone will be available. Phone line must be repaired OR a VOIP (voice-over-internet phone) with hard-wired power source may be installed.
6 - proper disinfectant level
Regulation: .17((1)(c) - proper disinfectant level
At time of inspection, the free chlorine level is above the maximum of 10 ppm (registered at 11.14 ppm). CPO will drain some water and add some fresh water to lower the free chlorine level to within acceptable range (2-10 ppm).
7 - ph between 7.2 and 7.8
Regulation: 511-3-5-.23(5)(b) - (b) during operation, the ph is less than the minimum or more than the maximum levels allowed in dph rule 511-3-5-.l7.
At time of inspection, the pH registered at 6.9 (pH must be 7.2-7.8). CPO will adjust pool chemistry and raise pH to within acceptable range.
11 - appropriate lifesaving equipment present
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(b) - (b) a minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inch
At time of inspection, the throw ring and attached rope are missing. CPO states they were present yesterday. Replace throw ring (ring buoy) and attached rope.
21 - cyanuric acid level not exceeding maximum
Regulation: 511-3-5-.17(4) - (4) stabilizer (if used) cyanuric acid, ppm ideal: 30-50 maximum: 90 comments: if stabilizer is: too high: - may reduce chlorine efficacy too low: - chlorine residual rapidly destroyed by sunlight note: stabilizer is not needed in indoor or br
At time of inspection, the stabilizer level registered at 248 ppm (CYA must be 90 ppm or less). CPO will drain some water and add some fresh water, in order to get the stabilizer concentration below 90 ppm.
26 - gauge(s) in proper location; sight glass installed
Regulation: 511-3-5-.07(4)(a) - (a) a pressure or vacuum gauge or other means of indicating system condition shall be provided in the circulation system in an easily readable location.
At time of inspection, the pressure gauge for the sand filter is broken. Replace gauge.
22 - signs: peak occupancy/pool/spa/signs legible and in clearview
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(13)(c) - (c) a sign shall be posted stating the hours of operation in clear view near the entrance and shall state the theoretical peak occupancy.
At time of inspection, the peak occupancy (bather load) sign is missing (the bather load is 34 people). Replace bather load sign at gate, near hours of operation sign.
